This specialist day will focus on the problems, ranging from mild to chronic, which many dyslexic children experience with mathematics. Many variables will be taken into consideration, including recognition of individual learning styles, promotion of skills to help with basic concepts, organisational problems and sequencing difficulties. Additionally, the affect on maths of memory problems and anxiety will be investigated. Assessment tests and appropriate computer software will be examined, as well as suitable games and books.
